RHE Global Is Awarded the Evaluation of Rent Smart Wales Project

We are pleased to announce our latest achievement, being chosen to spearhead the Evaluation of the Rent Smart Wales project, commissioned by the Welsh Government.

This evaluation aims to assess the implementation and effectiveness of the Rent Smart Wales service since its last review in 2018. It focuses on several key areas including operational delivery; its impact on the private rented sector for stakeholders such as tenants, landlords and letting agents; evaluation of compliance with housing legislation; and the monitoring of progress against the programme for government commitments.

The private rented sector in Wales has seen significant changes, particularly with the introduction of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, which established Rent Smart Wales as a means of improving letting and management standards. Alongside the recently enacted Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016, these legislative measures represent this government’s commitment to elevating housing standards, ensuring tenant safety and regulating private landlords and agents more effectively.

RHE’s involvement in this project is extensive, necessitating close engagement with Welsh Government, Rent Smart Wales, local authorities, landlords, letting agents and tenants, alongside their representative bodies. We are committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure the success of the project objectives and to assist in shaping its findings.
