Covid-19 is affecting us all and impacting on how we work and live. Inspections have been suspended, personal visits cancelled and many people are spending time at home, either home working or self-isolating.
While all may seem doom and gloom, as Albert Einstein said, “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”. We often don’t have time to consider our own development, and there can be a tendency to put off training and development opportunities; however, perhaps now is the time to think about how to maintain and develop our competencies.
Did you know that we have a range of e-learning courses available and relevant to those in regulation?
Why not brush up on your enforcement practice by completing the Investigative Skills course? This course consists of 12 modules which take you through the basics of investigations and the legal rules and processes. The course concludes with a multiple-choice examination. The course is ideal for new officers who need to develop their legal skills and also experienced officers who want to brush up their knowledge as CPD.
We also offer a Street Scene Enforcement course with 10 modules covering the main street scene offences. This is an ideal course for environmental officers, street wardens and others who deal with street scene issues. Both this course and the Investigation Skills course can be delivered on a pick and mix basis – just choose the modules that apply to you and produce your own bespoke package.
It is our pleasure to launch our newest course, the HHSRS Assessment of High-Rise Residential Buildings with Cladding: Fire Addendum. This 6-module course addresses the fire safety issues associated with cladding on multi-storey housing blocks and provides an understanding of the new guidance produced by the MHCLG on assessing and addressing fire safety issues. This course is relevant not only to those with enforcement responsibilities but also to others who inspect or are responsible for this type of residential property.
